Wonderful fancy execution of idea. 6 stars.

Better than a box of chocolates – this makes the perfect gift! Love the design and presentation.

Donna Greene’s “Quintessential Santa Barbara” is a delight in color and evocative images. Her sharp, bold red and blues resonate with the softer scenes in yellow and namesake green. The misty harbor, the explosive sunset, the turbulent clouds in glowing rose above shaded mountain, reveal her talent in rarely captured moments of ever changing light and ever moving life.

The tin container box for this greeting card set is a joy in itself — worth the price alone. The top, a collage of additional Donna Greene photographs, has a subtle antique hint suggesting those early 1920 and 1930s “picture post cards.” The side design on the box is a stylized pattern suggesting Mexican tiles but with a hint of Moorish order.

Long after the cards have brought smiling pleasure to their recipients, the box will bring reminiscent and utilitarian satisfaction to the sender.

    Well done, Donna.

The tin of greeting cards is a fun gift to give. It allows me to share one of my most precious possessions with those I love: my home. These cards capture the real Santa Barbara, not just the obvious tourist destinations but also the places and scenes that feel like home: the Farmers Market, the Butterfly Exhibit, images a travel writer from somewhere else would not know to include. Of course there needs to be a card of the Courthouse, the Mission and the beach to complete the set. There are two ways to give this gift: as a complete set in the tin, or one at a time by writing to friends. I appreciate paper mail so much more now that it is a choice. This is a thoughtful gift for a friend who lives afar now, or a visitor who you want to send home with a piece of our home.

Thanks, they arrived in good shape. They are very, very beautiful! I look forward to sending some notes on them. Only small “criticism” I have is that they are a little too big for notes and most of us do not write letters anymore. In other words, you could trim them down to a more conventional size, just a wee bit smaller. On the other hand, if people wanted to frame them, they are big and beautiful and would look nice framed. Anyhow, thanks for your talent and your generosity of size, at least I won’t have to be short of room and write up and down the sides! The pen and scenic box are a nice extra!!! Thanks so much again, Diana (native Santa Barbaran stuck on East Coast, but liking it except for missing the palm trees and sunshine!)

I bought two sets to give as holiday gifts, and in both cases, it was such a pleasure to be with the recipients as they opened them. They loved them! The photos, the tin, the pen, the design of the cards… all exclaimed over and admired, making these very satisfying gifts to give! I am already planning on getting another set for my best friend’s birthday in March. She used to live here but is now in the Bay Area. I know she will love them too.

I purchased the Quintessential Santa Barbara set of 12 beautiful greeting cards as a gift for a family in New Zealand. I wanted a gift that portrayed what Santa Barbara is all about. The set of 12 cards met my requirement perfectly. Donna sent my order out promptly, which is very important as we are departing for New Zealand shortly. We will order again. Thank you Donna.
