Description
The wildly popular and wacky home-grown Santa Barbara Summer Solstice Parade has been around since 1974 and has grown to a huge celebration, drawing over 100,000 spectators. There is a different theme every year, and anyone can participate. Some build elaborate floats, others dance and some ride bikes or roller skates. It’s always a happening. Lots of music and festivities follow at Alameda Park, with food booths and the selling of crafts.
“Without a doubt, the Summer Solstice parade is the most artistically creative and outrageous event in Santa Barbara, and one of the most fun.” – Santa Barbara Family Life
