One of the most beloved scenes of Santa Barbara is The Santa Barbara Mission and Mission Rose Garden… the Queen of the Missions and the tenth California Mission to be founded by the Spanish Franciscans. From the steps of the mission, you can look down across Santa Barbara to the Pacific Ocean.
Annual events at the mission include the I Madonnari Street Painting Festival (benefitting the Children’s Creative Project, a nonprofit education program through the Santa Barbara County Education Office and La Fiesta Pequena (Little Fiesta), an event that kicks off Old Spanish Days Fiesta.
The Mission Rose Garden is cared for by the Santa Barbara Rose Society.
